Cattleya maxima var coerulea 'Alexandria' x self
Cattleya maxima var coerulea 'Alexandria' x self – A stunning self-cross of the classic coerulea variety that produces beautiful blue-toned flowers with excellent color saturation.
This is an excellent and somewhat rare coerulea self cross that consistently produces strong blue coloration. The picture shown in our gallery was the first to bloom from this cross, and we're thrilled to report that the blue color has been strong and consistent in all of the siblings. This reliability in color makes this cross particularly valuable for collectors seeking true blue Cattleyas.
Cattleya maxima is a beloved species known for its large, showy flowers and relatively easy culture. The coerulea variety is especially prized for its beautiful blue-lavender tones, which are rare and highly sought after in the orchid world. These plants were repotted in June 2023 and are growing vigorously.
