A small hot to cool growing epiphyte that can be found growing in the Indian subcontinent, Thailand, Indochina, Pennisular Malaysia, Borneo, Java, Sumatra, New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Vanuatu, Fiji, Sulawesi and New Caledonia.

Liparis gibbosa typically bloom from summer through fall, but seem to bloom any time of year for us.
