Bulbophyllum maxillare red/white form – A stunning species orchid featuring distinctive purple flowers with elegant white margins that mimic the charming shape of Masdevallia blooms.

This is the beautiful purple with white margin form of Bulb. maxillare as described in the AOS Orchids bulletin (August 2020). We previously sold this as B. masdevalianum, and the cherry red with yellow on the petals form as B. blumei. The flowers showcase a unique Masdevallia-like shape that sets them apart from typical Bulbophyllum blooms, creating an eye-catching display of rich purple petals beautifully outlined in crisp white.

These are wonderful, easy-to-grow orchids that are warmth tolerant and reward growers with multiple blooming cycles throughout the year. Their reliable flowering habit and striking color combination make them a must-have for any Bulbophyllum or species orchid collection.
